Andred’s Kiss

Beautiful She stands,

Moonlight given human form.

Radiant She smiles,

Beckoning me to approach.

Sweet is Her scent,

As She bends towards me.

Sharp are Her teeth,

As Her lips part.

Cruel is her beauty,

Her face pale and stark.

Icy are Her eyes,

Ancient and secret.

Panic fills me,

Rooted with fear.

Confusion and terror,

Cloud my mind.

I cannot look,

But neither can I look away.

She gets closer.

I stand firm,

In spirit if not body.

I steal myself,

For what must surely follow.

The gentlest of kisses,

Her lips caress my cheek.

Ecstasy vies with relief,

I feel them both.

She pulls back,

No trace of the predator,

That inspired my fear.

Her eyes sparkle,

Deep and wise they speak to me.

I am as Nature, cruel and kind.

Accept Me as both,

And learn the truth of life.

She smiles,

I have passed Her test.

I have learnt Her lesson.

I see now with opened eyes.
